I've tried all the subscription services. URGE is the least pain in the ass of them all. All the other's media management software sucks majorly. Urge is better partly since it just uses WMP11 to handle the library.
As far as I know, no matter which service it is, it's still using Microsoft's DRM. So if Rhapsody music works on your phone, Yahoo, Napster, and Urge should work also.
Yeah, it can be hit and miss. Whether PlaysForSure works is always a WMP issue and WMP 10 seems to play best. I never had an issue, so I guess I'm lucky. I subscribe to both Rhapsody and Napster. I briefly had Yahoo as well. Works on my Palm TX, N800, Creative Zen V, Zen V Plus and Vision M. My wife and daughter use Napster and believe me, THAT is a real acid test. ;-) I love subscription music and prefer Rhapsody desktop app. Weird how our experiences are polar opposites. Too bad.
It's just so frustrating because Rhapsody seems like the most "platform agnostic" since you can stream music over their website, which means you can use it on Macs, too. I've actually heard many people raving about the service, and heard about how they have support for many devices like the N95, so that's what pushed me to chance on another music subscription after my annoying turn with Yahoo Music Unlimited.
If I had actually been able to get any tracks to work on my devices, I probably would've set aside more time to figure out a more successful procedure for transferring the tracks over. But all of this work done with no payback is supremely annoying. Then when I found out you can't even cancel your subscription online, that was just the last straw. :P
I forgot to add that while I have no problems with just listening to the music on my laptop, I'm still mainly a podcast listener, so it's not worth it for me to downgrade my Rhapsody account to the desktop version only, since I wouldn't be using it much. If the "to go" part was working, I would've found some value in keeping some music on my portables for when I can't listen to podcasts (like when I'm concentrating on coding at work).
I had a friend that got a Palm TX and it took him a long time to get it to work with pretty much the same set up I had. Techsupp told him to use WMP11 and in the end, WMP10 was the solution. It's all MS's DRM's fault. Here's a page with some hotfixes that might help. http://support.rioaudio.com/index.php?m=knowledgebase&a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=44
Since I'm at a desk all day, I LOVE being able to play most any random artist or song that pops into my head on desktop app. The related artists usually causes me to think "oh yeah, i forgot about them.." and deeper into Rhapsody (or Napster)

You are using WMP10 and not 11, right?
