Near the bottom of the page right by the button to join the campaign, I see this:
ELIGIBILITY : The “ S60 Ambassador Program” (the "Program”), brought to you by Nokia Inc. ("Sponsor"), is governed by these “Official Rules”. This Program is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Void where prohibited. Sponsor reserves the right, at any time, to verify eligibility requirements, in any manner it deems appropriate. Employees and directors of Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, licensees, advertising, promotion or production agencies and provider companies (and their immediate family members and individuals residing in their same household) are not eligible.
Hubby's company was bought by Nokia, so I guess at the very least it's an affiliated company, if not a subsidiary. And it's pretty related to maps... Oh alright, the hubby works for NAVTEQ. So Nokia Maps is quite related to what his employer does. Hmph, I think I am not eligible. :P
Well, NAVTEQ != Nokia Maps. NAVTEQ did not have any part in developing the app; it's all Nokia. NAVTEQ actually doesn't write any of the applications that go on nav systems; their customers do. They help evaluate the systems and provide the map data.
I guess they're encouraging people at NAVTEQ to look at Nokia Maps, get familiar with it, and report issues, but that's not very different from what people in this campaign will be doing (for free).
@jezlyn: Wanted to clear try to clear this up. We welcome Nokia employees and family members to join the Ambassador program. We can and will "engage" you in the report writing and communication parts that Ambassadors tend to enjoy. The only thing that we (unfortunately) have to exclude you from as a family member of a Nokia employee is eligibility to get rewards. That's a legal/tax thing. Thanks for clearing that up, @Blackmore. :) I think that if I do get around to reviewing Nokia Maps, I'll probably post about it on my blog, though. It's quite lacking in content these days, so any bit helps. :)
