goes back at least 15 years... needed a screen name for AOL when I was first signing up. Looked down and saw a copy of Stereophile magazine and atmasphere is a brand I saw and thought was interesting. Never moved on ... ;)
That's cool. :) I made up my alias for a story fragment I had written when I was back in HS. Decided to use it when I signed up for university e-mail instead of something lame like a concatenated/truncated version of my full name, and just kept using it or variations of it for my online aliases.
I think back in my BBS days I used to be sterling, which was a character name from a young adult novel I read, but someone had misinterpreted it to be related to Bruce Sterling. Heh, oops. Speaking of which, I've never read any of his stuff...

@rubin: ??? Grouchy today? :)
@atmasphere: I'm actually getting better about not having the dang song permeate my brain... As long as others don't keep mentioning it! :-/
(P.S. Why do you spell your alias that way?)

Sounds interesting! Thanks. Perhaps I'll try to read this book while the hubby reads Spook Country (I knew I should've opted for faster shipping...).
